This poster was commissioned for the downtown Missoula bar The Blue Heron. This piece was a bit different for Monte to do, because it features an urban scene-but still focuses on the interaction between nature and civilization, if in a more subdued way. The idea for the heron came when Monte was fishing on the Blackfoot River and less than six feet away, a heron flew by.
