This piece was inspired by a painting that Monte did of some friends dancing at their wedding-he then substituted the fish for the bride the the fisherman for the groom. This is one of Monte's most popular pieces-it perfectly highlights his visual whimsy, while also showing his ability to render a beautiful Montana landscape. An archived study of the painting can be viewed here.  This piece is used on the label of Bayern Brewery's "Dancing Trout" beer.
